The field became particularly significant during decolonization, when newly independent states sought to assert their identities on the world stage. The establishment of organizations such as the United Nations greatly enhanced global governance, allowing nations to collaborate on issues such as economic development and human rights.

You’ll also complete a senior requirement—either a Capstone project in GLBL 4499 or a senior essay in a seminar of your choice or GLBL 4500, the global affairs senior essay course.
